The Econometric Game will take place at 17, 18 and 19 April 2012.
How much does it cost to participate in the Econometric Game 2012?
The registration fee to participate is € 1000 per team. This includes the programme of the Econometric Game as well as a stay in a hotel accommodation and lunches and dinners on the three days of the Game.
What does participation in the Econometric Game 2012 include?
Participants follow the three-day programme of the Econometric Game. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on the three days of the Game are included.
To make sure all participants can start off the Game well-rested, we offer the participants a number of nights in a hotel accommodation, depending on where they come from:
- a three night stay for participants from the Netherlands (except for University of Amsterdam students);
- a four night stay for participants from Europe;
- a five night stay for participants from outside Europe.
It is the responsibility of the participants to arrange and pay for the journey to Amsterdam. Unfortunately, we cannot subsidize travel.
Of course, it is possible to stay in Amsterdam for a longer period, but it is the responsibility of the participants to arrange this.

When will the selection of participating universities be announced?
We are striving for a selection of participating universities, which means we possibly cannot let everyone enter the competition. Therefore, we cannot yet guarantee participation of all universities that apply for the Econometric Game 2012.
What are the requirements for a participating team?
Participating universities are expected to send delegations of five students majoring in econometrics or relevant studies. A European team consists of at least three master (or equivalent) students and at most two PhD students. An American, Asian or Australian team consists of at least three students from the first or second year of graduate school and at most two students from the third or higher year of graduate school.
There is no particular blend of Macroeconometrics, Microeconometrics and Financial Econometrics to be expected. Universities are free to choose participants from different fields in econometrics. Visiting students are allowed to join the team.
Do I have to have a team ready when I subscribe for the Econometric Game 2012?
If your university would like to participate in the Econometric Game 2012, we consider the subscription a declaration of intent. This does not mean you must have a team already. If your university is selected to participate, we will ask for the names of the five team members.
